P52 Week 8 - Cabin Fever

I found this topic difficult. The weather has actually been gorgeous here, so I haven't had the slightest bit of cabin fever. Last weekend, our family walked from Roosevelt Island into Georgetown crossing the Key Bridge.

A homeless man wandered out of the woods and on closer inspection, it seemed to be some sort of homeless camp by the bike path. I searched and searched for information about it, but I can't find anything at all. I really want to learn more. There are chairs and a makeshift fence.

How fortunate - to get sick of being in your house. See other Cabin Fever photos here.

  1. That's a very interesting perspective on the week's theme. There is *so* much that everyone takes for granted. Simply having a home - a place to live - is worth being grateful for.

Just read an article this morning about the working poor in Minnesota. The article profiled three people who are living in their cars, despite having jobs. They just simply can't afford the rent or monthly payment with their wages.

What an eye-opening experience on your walk this week. Thank you for posting about it...and for making me pause to reflect upon things this morning.

  3. And here we sit in our cozy little homes in front of our computers out of the cold. How desperate some people live. V
